Aviation: Windows EFB

We are often asked, which is better, iPad or Windows EFB?  Our response is, we offer both, but it depends on what you want and how you plan to use it.  The iPad is a great chart viewer, is lightweight, inexpensive, and has a phenomenal gathering of pilots that have embraced it.  However, it is not the answer for everyone.  ACS believes having choices is important, so it is our goal to offer the best choices available.  We urge our clients to look beyond the iPad and consider all options to find what fits their needs.

Almost every client we have provided a T580 or Q550 solution to, has already had an iPad.

I recently acquired a Fujitsu Q550 solution from ACS and have found it very beneficial.  I use it for viewing Jepp charts, managing many of my aircraft documents, performing aviation updates, W/B & performance calculations (CESNAV), and for a backup to my GPS avionics for aircraft position.  I also have an iPad, but because the Q550 offers more technical capability at approximately the same size / weight and price, I find that it is a more complete solution.

I am writing to thank you for your help in getting me set up with the Q550 EFB solution for my Citation Mustang.  It has become a valuable tool in the cockpit and in my preflight planning.  As you know, in the past I used an iPad for most of my planning.  It has now become a backup to the EFB I purchased from ACS.  What a great tool!  I really appreciate the great support from ACS and the quick response to any questions or need that arises!

Chris Caffey - CD Aviation

It became time to upgrade our EFB’s so I began the search.  I looked hard at the iPad, but it just did not offer all the functionality of our old units, specifically in flight weather and GPS map position.  After careful consideration, I opted to buy the Fujitsu Q550 from ACS.  Throughout the process, their sales and technical staff went above and beyond to help me resolve any issues we had.  Everything operates as promised and we love it.  I highly recommend the Fujitsu Q550 as sold by ACS, Inc. to be your new or next EFB system.
